常远，1981年出生在天津，他的爷爷是著名的相声演员常宝华。常远从4岁开始学说相声，5岁登台演出，1988年被爷爷带着上了央视春晚，俩人合说了一段相声《爷孙对话》。初中毕业后常远考入北方曲艺学校，开始专业从事相声研究，后师从师胜杰。2000年曲校毕业后进入全国总工会文工团。2004年常远考取了中国戏曲学院的大专，两年毕业后又考取了北京电影学院。

2009年，常远首次出演了开心麻花舞台剧《书桌里的铜锣湾》。2011年在央视小品大赛表演小品《落叶归根》获得三等奖。其后常远在春晚和元宵晚会表演过《天网恢恢》、《大城小事》、《闹元宵》、《同学会》、《其实你不懂我的心》等小品，深受广大观众喜爱。常远的成名和今天的成就，不是靠家族的关系，而是通过自己的努力一点一滴换来的。明明可以靠颜值，却要靠才华；明明可以靠家世，却要靠自己。这在当今浮躁的娱乐圈，这是难能可贵！
